The Youth Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development (YLEAD) Fellowship is a flagship program of iKapture Centre for Development which has impacted young people globally over the last 12 years. The Virtual program provides a platform for young people to learn from experienced thought leaders, share knowledge with changemakers, and also create meaningful networks and changes in their lives and in their communities.
YLEAD is an innovative solution to the dearth of skills among young people. It seeks to enhance learning and engage students in the most productive method while preparing them for career and higher education. The program offers well-developed modules and content on areas such as Self Awareness, Purpose Discovery, Emotional Intelligence, Goal Setting, Time Management, Etiquette, Ethics and Values amongst others. This year, participants will get access to digital skills and remote job placements.
Since inception, YLEAD has reached over 500 young people with support from Michelle Obama’s Young African Women Leaders’ Forum Small Grants, British Council’s Global Changemakers, U.S. Department of State Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF), Ashoka’s Youth Venture and the American Corner Calabar.
The aim of YLEAD Program is to educate, engage and equip young people in their transitional years with the necessary leadership, personal development and entrepreneurial skills needed to prepare for the world of work.

Who is this program for?
The YLEAD program is open to aspiring young leaders globally who may be students, graduates or out-of-school youth between 15 and 30 years.
Interested participants must:
- Be between the ages of 15 - 30 years
- Have attempted High School
- Show interest in learning new skills and participates in group activities
- Attain 75% attendance in the training program
- Be of good behavior and willing to interact with people of different background, tribe, and religion
- Should be interested in volunteering and acquiring digital skills.

FAQs
The Youth Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development (YLEAD) Fellowship is an immersive capacity building program designed to educate, engage, and equip young people with skills to prepare them for the world of work and transition from school to career. This four-week leadership, digital, entrepreneurship, and personal development program is designed for students and secondary school graduates as well as out-of-school youths.
The program duration is four weeks. It includes 1 week of leadership and personal development training, 1 weeks of digital skills acquisition, and 2 weeks of internship and remote job placement.
- Week 1: The participants will receive scheduled virtual lectures from our well-structured modules on different topics covering Leadership and Personal Development. Icebreakers, games, puzzles, illustrations, and PowerPoint slides will be employed to engage and educate the students.
- Week 2: Digital skills and entrepreneurship training. Skills will include website creation and monetization, copywriting, editing, social media marketing and grant and proposal writing.
- Week 3 and 4: Remote Internship, Business Simulation and Job Placement. Selected Mentors (external and internal) from different fields are matched with students to help guide them.
- Graduation Event and Awards
The program offers well-developed modules and content on areas such as Self Awareness, Purpose Discovery, Vision Onboarding, Emotional Intelligence, Goal Setting, Time Management, Etiquette, Ethics, and Values amongst others.
- You will learn about leadership, personal development and entrepreneurship.

The YLEAD program is open to young people (15-30 years) within the secondary, post-secondary, pre- and post-university status.
Participants are required to fill an application form for this program. Applications will be assessed to ascertain the readiness of the student to embark on such an intensive program.
The value of this program cannot be quantified. Selected candidates will only be required to pay a commitment fee of N30,000 ($60) only to be able to participate in this life-changing program.
