Happy New Year!

The new year started on a good note. We are excited to announce that our iKapture Alumna of the YLEAD Program emerged Winner of the 2015 Future Africa Leaders Awards. James is a strong supporter of our work and a brilliant teenager passionately committed to making a positive difference. He wins this award and recognition for his project, the #StreetPriests, a community-based, youth-led project that is tackling the problems of street kids in Calabar.

Applications are open for the 2015 SmarterPrize competition. SmarterPrize is a small business grant competition for young people with creative and innovative business ideas. The competition is organised by iKapture Networks with support from the US Department of States’ Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). The aim is to identify young secondary school leavers between 15 and 24 years who have smart business ideas but lack fund to start-up.

Selected finalists will receive grants of up to N100,000, mentoring and training to help them launch their enterprises.

iKapture Students Emerge Winners of 2015 Technovation Challenge

We’re proud and excited to announce that five of our students have emerged winners of the 2015 Technovation World Pitch Competition in San Francisco, CA. Today, the group of girls called Team Charis, who were coached by our Founder, Grace Ihejiamaizu, are celebrating their entrepreneurial success after being awarded $10,000 in seed funding for our mobile app idea.
